RA Spacecraft Designs
Lynx – 4 person lunar capable pod-like spacecraft
Taurus – Spaceplane designed to compete with NASA’s Orion spacecraft utilizing the same OMS engines and tanks as the STS Shuttle.
Marukyuu – Horizontally landing cargo and crew lander for the Moon and Mars
Shinkansen – Spaceplane designed to be launched as a pair, with one filled with fuel and acting as a booster. The design is meant to maximize surface area for lunar returns.
Shuttle Mark II – Small crewed spaceplane with integrated escape system that can carry enough propellant to make a lunar transfer.
Orion III – Spaceplane based on the Orion III spaceplane from 2001: A Space Odyssey with minor modifications to make it work with present technology. Uses methane and oxygen engines.
Orion Carrier – Booster spaceplane designed to launch the Orion III spaceplane. Currently used with the Ministar (small-scale Venture Star). Uses methane and oxygen.
Lex – Small-scale version of SpaceX’s Starship using one Raptor and supplementary small methalox landing engines. Meant to launch on a booster with 9 Raptor engines.
The Pear – Nuclear thermal transfer vehicle for the Moon – meant to go to the Moon, drop off passengers at a station, and then return to low Earth orbit to pick up more.
Goku – Lunar direct vehicle with lander and Earth return pod integrated into one body.
Kumo – Crewed hydrolox lunar lander for 4 people with drop tank to be used until in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) is set up. With ISRU, the drop tank is no longer necessary and the lander alone is optimized for crew landings.
